南 陽（二）沿 革 史
我國海軍的第二艘南陽軍艦，原為美海軍Allen M. Sumner 級驅逐艦，編號
DD-760，由美國伯利恆鋼鐵公司建造，一九四四年九月三十日完工成軍，在美國服役期間，曾支援我國戡亂作戰及參加韓戰與越戰，並於一九五一年起，多次奉命巡弋台灣海峽。

民國六十三年美國將該艦售予我國，同年七月二十七日拖返左營，六十四年六月二十三日正式成軍，命名為「南陽」軍艦。
民國六十七年，該艦納編六七敦睦支隊，訪問新加坡，韓國鎮海、釜山、仁川等地，七十一年八月十五日完成「武進一號」系統改裝，使該艦具備現代化三度空間作戰能力，對我海軍反潛、防空、反水面武力之提昇，貢獻良多。第二艘南陽軍艦在海軍服役期間，先後參加定遠、天盾、雲海、龍睛、海鯊等演習，並擔任海峽偵巡、外島運補護航、巡弋警戒及各項演訓等任務，為海軍建軍備戰與確保海權，寫下不可磨滅的功勳與輝煌之史蹟，於民國八十九年一月十六日除役，走入歷史。 |
 DDG-917 was the second ROCS named Nan-Yang.
DDG-917 was the ex-USS
Thomason, the
Sumner-class destroyer, DD-760, laid down by
Bethlehem Steel, S.F., CA. on November 21, 1943,
launched on September 30, 1944 and commissioned
on October 11,1945. DD-760 participated Mainland
counter rebellion war, Korean War and Vietnam
War with splendid merits and great achievements
during her service in the USN. DD-760 patrolled
Taiwan Strait several times since 1951.
DD-760 was transferred to ROC Navy on June 23,
1974 and renamed as Nan-Yang with the hull
number DD-917. She was assigned as one of the
ships to carry the midshipmen cruise training
mission, and visited Singapore and several
Korean harbor cities. In 1982, DDG-917 went
through the “ Wu-Chin I” combat system
modernization program. It made her to equip a
3-dimension (ASW, AAW and ASuW) fighting
capabilities. DDG-917 Nan-Yang served ROC Navy
for 26 years. Her missions were patrolling the
Taiwan Strait and surrounding waters to convoy
offshore-islands-support-and-supply, idshipman
cruise training mission, task flotilla and
various missions. She played an important role
on the Navy force built-up and fleet combat
readiness, secure the safety of Taiwan Strait
and Maritime communications. Finally, the
DDG-917 Nan-Yang was decommissioned on January
16,2000.

我於民國七十八年畢業於台北醫學院，是年夏天結束在台大醫院的實習後入伍服役一年又十個月，期間先於基隆海軍醫院服務半年，之後即調至南陽艦擔任醫官直到退伍。目前任職台北和信治癌中心醫院胸腔內科暨加護病房主治醫師。
退伍至今雖已整整十年，但是和艦上官兵之間的相處情誼、專業知識的分享；以及個人技術的學習、體能上的磨練，都是服役最大的收穫。除此之外，因隨艦執行任務，曾到訪左營、澎湖、基隆、蘇澳等軍港，並得以飽覽台灣海峽及太平洋的的壯麗景色。
對我來說，這是令人難忘也是成長最快的二年。在南陽艦服役期間，我學會了如何與不同階層的官兵接觸相處，更學習責任、紀律與服從，對我個人的人格養成有很大的幫助，我會永遠懷念在南陽的那段日子。

I
was graduated from Taipei
Medical University, the former
Taipei Medical School in 1989,
and report to my 22-month
military duty after my
internship at National Taiwan
University Hospital that summer.
During my military duty, first I
was served at Keelung Naval
Hospital for half year, then I
transferred to DDG-917 Nan-Yang
until I finish the term of
military service. Currently, I
am the attending doctor of Koo
Foundation Sun Yat-Sen Cancer
Center, Taiwan.

but the brotherhood among the
crews, the knowledge sharing
experience, the learning of
personal skills and physical
exercises at Nan-Yang were my
fruitful awards during my
service onboard. Besides, I got
the chance to visit the military
harbors at Tsoying, Makung,
Keelung and Suao along with the
ship, as well as the Taiwan
Strait and the magnificent
Pacific Ocean.
To me, this
was an unforgettable two years.
It made me grew up so fast. I
learned how to make friends with
every walk of life also the
responsibilities, disciplines
and obedience. These are very
helpful to my career and life. I
will always memorize the times I
served at DDG-917 Nan-Yang. |
