慶陽沿革史

　　慶陽軍艦原為美軍Fletcher級驅逐艦，編號DDG-528，由舊金山伯利恆鋼鐵公司承造，一九四三年四月二十三日完工成軍，曾參加第二次世界大戰、韓戰與越戰。民國六十年九月海軍官兵編組赴美國，以現況交接方
式接收本艦，同年十月六日於加州長堤舉行交接典禮，因慶祝她是我國第一艘自費購買的陽字型軍艦，故命名為「慶陽」軍艦。
　　民國六十四年四月二日十時十分，該艦成功發射海軍第一枚防空飛彈，使海軍從此邁入了飛彈時代。七十五年五月至七十七年四月，持續完成中科院雄風二型飛彈試射
，成為兼具三度空間作戰的現代化戰艦。
　　慶陽軍艦在海軍服役二十六年餘，歷經

二十任艦長，擔負偵巡、外島運補護航、護漁及各項演訓等任務，於民國八十八年七月十六日除役。

　　DDG-909 Chin-Yang was the ex-USS Mullany, the Fletcher-class destroyer, DD-528, laid down by Bethlehem Steel, San Francisco, CA. on January 15, 1942, launched on September 17, 1942 and commissioned on April 23, 1943. She had participated in World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War with splendid merits and great
achievement and was decommissioned in San Diego, CA on February 14, 1946. Stricken on October 6, 1971, she was sold and transferred to ROC Navy at the same day at Long Beach, CA and renamed as Chin-Yang with the hull number DD-909.

　　On April 2, 1975, at 10:10 a.m. DDG-909 successfully launched the first Surface-to-Air missile in ROC Navy history, and that marks the missile era for the ROC Navy.
　　From May, 1986 to April, 1988, DDG-909 accomplished the test firing of Hsiung-Feng II Surface-to-surface missiles, developed by CSIST, and become a destroyer with 3-dimension capabilities.
　　DDG-909 Chin-Yang was in service of ROC Navy for 26 years and through 20 Commanding Officers. The mission was patrolling the Taiwan Strait and surrounding waters to convoy offshore-islands-support-and-supply, task flotilla and various missions. She played an important role on the Navy force built-up and fleet combat readiness, secure the safety of Taiwan Strait and Maritime
communications. Finally, the DDG-909 Chin-Yang was decommissioned on July 16, 1999.

　　慶陽軍艦為中華民國海軍第一艘試射雄二飛彈及海欉飛彈的船。有一次本艦參加漢光演習，奉命施放深水炸彈；由於該彈種為二次大戰產物，因此全艦官兵

都抱持戰戰競競的態度，甚至還有調離本艦的資深士官長自動返艦，協助檢查。因為大家的同心協力，在預演及正式操演中，共計施放十八枚，每一發都成功引爆，令全艦人心振奮、士氣高昂。
　　所謂：「一艘快樂的船就可以是有戰力的船。」所以個人在擔任慶陽艦艦長時，除了不時注意官兵心理及情緒的變化，更把照顧官兵福利列為工作重點。記得有一天，我參加一個會議，當晚上八
點半左右回到艦上時，看到還有弟兄在認真的清洗艦上的油污，為了體恤官兵辛勞，馬上請補給長買些飲料給每一個人。隔天早點名時，全艦的油污竟已清理完畢，船體煥然一新。由於全艦上下一心，當時的慶陽艦可說是戰力一等一的驅逐艦。

　　DDG-909, ROCS Chin-Yang is the first destroyer which successfully test firing the Hsiung-Feng II Surface-to-surface missiles and Sea-chaparral Surface-to-air missile in ROC Navy. I remembered one year, while DDG-909 was assigned to launch the depth charges for Han-Kwang Joint Exercise, since the depth charge is made during WWII, every crews and members are working cautiously and carefully. There’s even a chief who was transferred to other post came back onboard to work together. Due to the
efforts and teamwork, all the 18 depth charges launched by DDG-909 are successfully exploded during the rehearsal and formal exercise, and that inspires us for the best capabilities.
　　There is an old saying that “A happy ship is also a ship with great capabilities.” Therefore, during my assignment as the commanding officer of DDG-909, I pay lots of attention on the crews’ conditions and emotions, and I emphasize their welfare as the highest priority. I still remembered one night when I came back from a meeting around 20:30, all the crews were cleaning the ship and worked very hard, immediately I asked the Supply Officer to buy drinks for them. The next morning, the ship is clean like new, and because everybody’s efforts, DDG-909 is very famous and with great capabilities.
