富 陽 沿 革 史
富陽軍艦原為美國Gleaves級驅逐艦，編號DD-838，由美國伯利恆鋼鐵公司製造，一九四五年八月二十一日完工成軍，曾參加越戰及韓戰。民國六十年美國將該艦軍售移交我國，同年七月一日由當時總司令宋長志上將主持成軍典禮，命名「富陽」軍艦，次年六月九日該艦正式服勤，六十二年六月納編海軍六二敦睦支隊訪問越南西貢、泰國曼谷、新加坡、菲律賓馬尼拉等地。
民國七十六年，富陽軍艦擔任海軍第二艘雄風飛彈測試艦，並成功擊沉靶船，對我海軍反水面武力之提昇，貢獻頗多。富陽軍艦在海軍服役二十八年期間，歷任二十任艦長，執行海峽偵巡、外島運補護航、敦睦遠航、專送、護漁及各項演訓等任務五百餘次，為海軍建軍備戰、海疆屏衛與海權確保等方面，寫下不可磨滅的功績，於民國八十八年十二月十六日除役。

DD-803 performed a sea
exercise
with the Aircraft Carrier
Battle Group,
before she was
transferred to
ROC Navy and renamed
as DDG-907,
ROCS Fu-Yang.

DDG-907
Fu-Yang was ex-USS Ernest G. Small, the
Gearing class destroyer, DD-838, she was
laid down byBath Iron Works, Bath, ME on
January 30, 1945 and launched on June
14, 1945 and commissioned on August 21,
1945. She has
been participating in the Vietnam War
and Korean War with splendid merits. In
1971, US Government transferred the USS
Ernest G. Small DD-838 to R.O.C. Navy
and the ship was re-commissioned as
Fu-Yang with the hull number DDG-907 by
Admiral Sung Chang-Chih, the CINC,
Commander-In-Chief of ROC Navythen.
The next
year, in 1972, DDG-907 Fu-Yang was in
active duty. In 1973 was assigned as one
of the ships to perform the midshipman
training cruise and to Saigon, Bangkok,
Singapore, Manila etc.
In 1987,
DDG-907 Fu-Yang destroyer was assigned
as the Hsiung-Feng missile testing
platform and successfully destroyed the
target ship. It’ s a great contribution
upgrading ROCN’ s Anti-Surface striking
capability.

Fu-Yang served ROC Navy for 28 years.
She had been through 20 Commanding
Officers. Fu-Yang patrolled the Taiwan
Strait and surrounding waters, |
convoyed
offshore islands, midshipman training
cruise, designated missions, escorting
the fishing vessels and various missions
which plays an important role on the
Naval force construction and combat
readiness, secure the safety of Taiwan
Strait and Maritime communications.
Finally, the DDG-907 Fu-Yang destroyer
was decommissioned on December 16, 1999.

富陽軍艦多麼懷念的名字，在我心裡有如資料庫取之不盡、用之不竭的精神戰力，永難忘懷。記得當時我們前後爐艙各有二位身材高大，壯碩魁梧號稱四大金剛的義務役士兵，每當較大型裝備故障檢修都必須靠他們。有一回艦上出海執行任務，後爐艙因滑油管路鬆脫造成滑油大量外洩，弟兄們立即進行搶修，但因爐艙溫度過高，才待上數分鐘，便已汗流浹背，全身通紅，艦上醫官則不斷以鹽片泡成鹽水替我們補充水分，靠著大家的同心協力，終於在最短時間搶修完成，使裝備不致發生重大故障。富陽艦雖已走入歷史，但許多生活點滴已成永生不滅的記憶，一日富陽、終生富陽。

Fu-Yang!
What a memorable name for my journey in
the Navy! It’s like a numerous spirits
and fighting capabilities in my heart
and memory. There were two stocky
enlisted crews each for both the forward
and rear boilers, and we called them
“the Giants of the boilers“, since they
were capable and professional on the
repair and maintenance on the boilers. I
still have a fresh memory about one time
during the underway mission, the
lubricanting oil of the rear boiler were
leaking seriously due to the disengaged
pipelines. In a sudden, everyone in the
boiler room was busy repairing and
sweating a lot due to the high
temperature that we have to rely on the
doctor to offer the salt water to keep
us working and repairing the equipment
in case of severe casualty or damages.. |
